Laboratory

WELCOME TO MY LABORATORY! THIS IS WHERE I SHOW MY CREATIVE SIDE!

I am always on the lookout for a good project to get involved in, My interests cover video and photography as well as experimental art, having done lots of freelance work with creatives and community projects. I know my Budgets and Planning, and always happy to help with Press and Visibility… or the actual running of the film or art show.

Constantly drawn into smaller or bigger freelance projects I had the chance to work with all sorts of creatives and organisations (filmmakers, visual & concept artists, art dealers, theatre, television, fashion, etc etc).

After working in Production on several shorts and with local and international film festivals, I have developed an attraction towards design and plan to gain more experience in set and production design, so get in touch if you are short of crew – I have done Production, audience, marketing roles as well as Stills and assisting the Art Department.

Any unconventional creative projects – I’d love to hear more! …

Older or finished creative endeavours are shown in PAST PROJECTS in or … attempts (oh, well!) will be advertised in CURRENT PROJECTS IN LABORATORY section, so watch this space!

MIND THE OTHER

Dr. Schnabel walking around South-East London in May 2010.

His identity is hidden, your perceptions may be wrong. His mask, cloak and generally odd presence do make him stand out in a crowd. He is different! But he won’t go away!

We want to explore the idea of the other through ourselves. Mind the Other is not just a  combo event (visual art and performance), but aims to raise awareness on discrimination and foster social inclusion.

Join us to engage within this experiment about identity and perception.  Especially if you feel you are usually the odd one out…

Locations: Elephant & Castle tube area, Old Kent Road, East Street, Walworh Road, Camberwell Road and last but not least Brixton area and Brixton Village.

Calendar:

20-22 May 2010 – Filming in Elephant & Castle, Old Kent Road, East Street, Camberwell Road and Brixton Village.

26 May 2010 – MIND THE OTHER at Brick Box, in Brixton Village

26-30 May 2010 – Exhibition in Brixton Village

Guest is Doctor Schnabel himself! so if not for the crepes please come to see him personally in the Dark Room!

We plan to make this an experimental and engaging street performance, followed by an exhibition in the May Bank holiday weekend, exploring the opposition between perception and identity, under the broader concept of otherness

PERCEPTION versus IDENTITY, and the idea of `The OTHER’ as the outsider are core for Mind the Other, referring to all possible perceptions, preconceptions, judgements and suppositions we automatically collate onto individuals prior to knowing them and the importance of interpretation today.
